Over the last 4 weeks students have competed in our 2026 PBB Chess Tournament, going head to head each day in the Resource Centre, hoping to progress to the finals. Our final match was held on Tuesday 19th May with a large crowd of spectators in attendance to watch Alex Thuaux and Osborn Chen play for the top spot in a nail biting match that went down to the wire. Congratulations to Alex, who was crowned our 2026 champion and thank you to all students who participated. It was great to see Patties’ sportsmanship shining brightly through every game.

On Wednesday, 20th May, Patrician Brothers' competed against Gilroy Catholic College from Castle Hill in Round 5 of the CSDA Debating Competition. We had a very successful night with 4 wins - namely Years 7, 9, 10, and 12. Year 12 and Year 7 teams are to be particularly commended on their great season so far, with 5 wins for Year 12 and 4 for Year 7. All of the teams have been exemplary in the way they have represented the College in this competition.

This exciting opportunity encourages students to aim high, explore future career pathways, and see higher education as a realistic option after school. Through engaging presentations and one-on-one consultations, students gain valuable guidance to help them achieve their personal best and plan for their future.

Patrician Brothers’ College Blacktown have launched their Peter Mulholland Cup title defence in dominant fashion, overpowering All Saints College Maitland with a commanding 58–6 victory at Woy Woy Oval. Led by a relentless forward pack, we laid down an early marker with a powerful performance on both sides of the ball. The team will take on Matraville Sports High in Round 2 on June 3.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and mother figures who have supported and nurtured our students throughout their lives. Last Friday morning, Patrician Brothers’ Blacktown and Nagle joined for a wonderful Mother’s Day Mass at St Patrick’s Church. Thanks to Mr Greg Beacroft and Mr Anthony Pope, who worked with the RE staff from Nagle College over recent weeks to prepare. Fr Stephen led our liturgy with great sincerity, providing a poignant and prayerful tribute to all our mothers. The students then joined Fr Stephen and the two school Principals to distribute roses to their mothers and grandmothers as a simple expression of their love and gratitude ahead of Mother’s Day.
